Rudder tubes
Blokland Non Ferro BV offers you two different types of rudder tubes:
| BNF weldable rudder tubes (grease lubricated) The BNF grease lubricated rudder system is executed with bronze bearings, mounted in a thick-walled mild steel rudder tube. Optionally the rudder tube can be supplied with a Simmering lipseal on each side. The connection for grease supply on the rudder tube is located between the bearings, as high as possible. Welding has to be performed with care, to prevent high welding stresses in the rudder tube, causing deformation and/or bending (bearings will no longer be aligned). On request additional welding sleeves can be delivered. Download the Drawing BNF grease lubricated rudder system (pdf). It can be used for a request for quotation or to send us your purchase order directly. |

BNF Optiprop rudder systems (self lubricating; maintenance free) |

|
The BNF Optiprop system uses a double rudder tube; two FixSeals connect the bronze inner tube in the metal outer tube. Only the outertube is welded into the casco. Since no welding is performed onto the bronze inner tube, is cannot deform or bend due to welding stress. Also the inner tube is stays dismoutable. Because of the elastic mouted innertube, noise and vibration on board is reduced.
